painting a dark and disturbing picture of Hamlet’s world, he is commenting on the real world as well. In modern times this message is especially well received. Corruption, deceit, and lust are all commonplace among our societal burdens. Apparently not much has changed since Shakespeare’s time. Hopefully, by studying works like Hamlet, we can at least begin to understand ourselves a little better, and maybe even improve the way we treat each other.
