Current Unites States policies towards China must change. It must be realized that it is inevitable that China will once again become a great power and that it is in America’s national interests to come to terms with China’s role as a power in that region and to foster a positive relationship with China. Since China has thus far exhibited such constructive behavior and willingness to cooperate, the United States should make full use of this opportunity to help a nation, that due to its size and population will eventually become a hegemon regardless, to become an ally and a democracy where human rights and freedoms are available for the people.
