Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) is the most common cause of dementia, a medical condition that disrupts the way the brain works. It is a condition of unknown origin that causes gradual loss of abilities in memory, thinking, reasoning, judgment, orientation and concentration. If the outcome of the tests appears consistent, the diagnosis will be “probable Alzheimer’s disease.” If symptoms are not typical, but no other cause is found, the diagnosis will be “possible Alzheimer’s disease.” There is still no single test that can be performed to diagnosis AD, but doctors are still working on finding one.
