I saw All My Sons performed at the Arden Theatre on Friday, November 1st and was quite impressed with the many aspects of the production.
The stage design was very impressive and convincing in its specific attention to even the smallest of details. The backyard was filled with many of the small items that create a genuine sense of “being home.” A basketball rim without a net stood on stage left along with a wooden

of hope and determination to Chris telling him to live his life the two actors were left on stage continuing to hysterically weep in silence. This extended moment contrasts with the texts more sharp feeling ending on Kate’s words. While it may be overanalyzing this seemingly minute detail, I find that ending after this moment of pure tears leaves the audience with more of a sense of helplessness than determination as the text does.
