…showed last 75 words of 1300 total…voice of the pickets ringing out in the silence of the night. If you have never experienced this you will be unable to imagine what this is like. Extra duty was a favorite punishment among officers. As if they knew what hard work it was to be a soldier without it! An enlisted man can begin envy and hate those that wear the brass but I try my best not to hold that against them.
