“A Rose for Emily”
In the short story “A Rose for Emily”, by William Faulkner uses symbolism to get the meaning of the title of this story across to the reader. Though there are many interpretations that can be made from the title of this story, my interpretation of the title is the comparison of Homer Barron to being Miss Emily’s rose.

In conclusion I feel Emily ended up killing Homer Barron because she didn’t want to lose someone so close to her that she loved so much, or so she thought. Now that he was dead in her house, he can never leave her and she will always have him and can stay with her true love, her one and only rose.
